A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop, Layered Leaves

It's A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Time!
Hi crafty friends! Today I am hopping with a bunch of wonderfully creative demonstrators and we're sharing alternative ideas for September's Paper Pumpkin kit, Layered Leaves.
This kit is filled with lots of lovely leaves, already die cut and ready to go.

My first project is a full size card. I've used one of the included 3" x 3" colored envelopes to mount the small card front to. And then just added the other elements of the kit in. I love when I can make an alternative idea that doesn't use very many extra things. In fact, besides adhesive, (I used fast fuse) the only extra thing you need is a piece of Soft Suede card stock cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and folded in half for your card base. Cool deal!

For my second project, I made a mini photo book and packaged it up in one of our Mini Pizza Boxes.

Isn't it the cutest? I think this would be super fun to fill with some small pictures of family and give as a gift at Thanksgiving or anytime.
It could also be used for journaling on some of the pages about things you are thankful for.

I used the 3" x 3" envelopes to make the book.

I stacked 4 envelopes all in the same direction and attached all the flaps with some fast fuse.

Then carefully slid them all into another envelope and pressed them down, this was the tricky part.

Then I put lots of fast fuse on the back flap and pressed it down.

I cut the small note cards apart. I used the embossed fronts for the front of the book and to decorate the box top. And the backs of the cards for the inside of the book. When you adhere the card stock to the envelope pages, on the open envelope sides, only put adhesive around the three sides and you can still use the envelopes to tuck more pics or ticket stubs into.

Add some of the leaves to the top of the box and you have a gift ready for giving.

A Halloween Sampler, Some Spooky Fun

Hi Crafty Friends!
Welcome to this month's framed art sampler. It's all about the spooky fun!

I am so excited about this one! I think it is so cute. And I know everyone is going to have a great time making one in class next week.

So, let's get to the details!

Measurements
Pumpkin Pie background: 9" x  9"
Very Vanilla base: 8" x  8"
Squares, Basic Black: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" and Very Vanilla: 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" and Spooky Night DSP: 2"x2"
Rectangles, Basic Black: 2 1/4" x 4 3/4" Very Vanilla: 2 1/8" x 4 5/8" and 2 pieces at 1" x 4 5/8"

Now let's check out the different stamp sets and elements used.

The owl is from Spooky Cat, and the branch is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. The moon is the 3/4" circle punch. The letters are our indispensable Large Letters Framelits.

The adorable which hat is from Spooky Cat and the sentiment is from Merry Cafe. And there is a tiny bit of the Vintage Crochet Trim.

This center panel features the Creep It Real set and then these super cute and realistic pumpkins are from Gourd Goodness, no dies, so you'll need to cut them out. The cat is punched from the Spooky Night DSP.

I adore the cute little spooky faces. Seriously, I love them! They're in the Creep it Real set. I colored them with our Stampin' Write Markers, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Perfect Plum. And don't you love the two fussy cut and popped up faces? Ah! I can't stand the cuteness!
The bottom strip is all from the Spooky Cat set.

The final panel uses the Labels to Love set and the Everyday Label Punch.

Let's take another look at the whole thing again.

Ah! I just love it!

September's Just Cards Class

Hi Crafty Friends!

Here's a look at the cards we'll be making next week at the Just Cards classes. You have two choices for in person classes, Wednesday the 20th at 7 and Friday the 22nd at 1. Classes are also available to go, contact me for more info.

I've really been enjoying the doubles format for the Just Cards class. We make two each of three cards. And if possible, I will have several options for the greetings.

Let's take a closer look at each set of cards.
This first set of cards is inspired by The Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge.

I love a good sketch to inspire me in my creating. You can join in the fun by clicking HERE to see the challenge on the Freshly Made Sketch's blog. This is the sketch I used.

This one was nice and simple and lets the sentiment be the focal point. So I decided to feature the Year of Cheer Speciality DSP. It was suggested to me by one of my class participants that the paper would be great for a wedding card. And I totally agree!

This card has so much sparkle! I embossed the sentiment in copper. The sentiment is from the retired set, For the New Two. There's a tiny strip of Champagne Foil, half a silver doily, a bit of gold washi tape from the Year of Cheer Speciality Washi Tape, and a little twirl of copper thread.

For fun, I did the second card as a baby card! And used a different piece of DSP from the pack.

The cute sentiment is from the Baby Bear stamp set.

Now, take a look at our next sets of cards.

This set of cards uses the Wood Textures DSP Paperstack, and the Colorful Season's Bundle. The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Birthday Banners set.

And the final set of cards uses the Falling Flowers stamp set and the coordinating May Flowers Framelits. The sentiments are from two different sets, Balloon Celebration and Feather Together.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm always happy to share some crafting fun.

ICS Blog Hop, Brightly Lit Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's the first Wednesday of the month so it's ICS blog hop time. This month we are featuring products from our new Holiday catalog. It is a lovely catalog full of great products for all of your holiday crafting. If you need a catalog, let me know.

I am show-casing the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set and the coordinating Christmas Lamppost Thinlits Dies. On my first scroll through the Holiday catalog, this set caught my eye because of the lamppost. The Christmas lamppost has always been a favorite of my husband. We have a lamppost ornament for our tree and he gets to hang it. This was my first play with the set and I love it!

I used lots of new products on this card. The background paper and the DSP in the oval (I'm still loving the Stitched Shapes Framelits) are from the Christmas Around the World DSP. I think the key to this card is the little bit of So Saffron card stock in the light and the gold Foil Snowflake (the snowflakes might be my most favorite embellishment in the catalog). If you need any other info about the card, let me know. And just so you know, my husband really liked the card.

This card is part of my upcoming Christmas Card Club Class on September 12, at 10am and 7pm. For more info on the classes, check out my Facebook page or website.

Here are the other cards will be making in the class.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
